In order to be able to apply for a Dutch residence permit for your child you need to be a Dutch citizen or to have a residence permit in this country for a period longer than a year. Moreover, those parents who want to bring their children to live together in the Netherlands must prove that they will be able to support them. As such, the parent must have sufficient income, which means at least the minimum wage of 1,551.60 euro per month. In case the parents do not live together anymore, the authorities will require a letter of consent from the parent who has the custody of the child, through which he/she approves the departure of the child in the Netherlands.
Other conditions which must be respected in order to obtain a Dutch residence permit for your child are that the child must be less than 18 years old and he/she should not have started already a family on his/her own.

In order to obtain a Dutch residence permit for your child you must make sure that you can register her/him at the same address at which you live for the moment. The Dutch authorities will not allow a residence permit for a child who is not going to live together with one of his parents.
Before your child can travel to the Netherlands, you will have to submit an application for a provisional visa. This can be done as well by your child in your home country, through a Dutch embassy or consulate.
The evaluation period for the application takes 90 days after which you will be informed on the decision of the authorities. In case you receive a negative answer you have the right to contest the decision.
